Welcome to the tearoom~ This is where I'll be putting drinks and tea-blends. This is in the food section because what is food if not art? Enjoy~

London Fog

Ingredients & utensils needed:

  • Earl Grey tea | One tea bag
  • Half n' Half or heavy creme | 1/3 cup
  • Vanilla Syrup | A couple teaspoons or however your heart desires
  • Culinary lavender |A couple teaspoons or however your heart desires
  • Electric Milk frother
  • Sauce pan
  • Tall mug
  • Cup of choice

Notes

You can make a london fog hot or iced, though its going to be most effective hot. I would reccommend making an iced london fog with reused teabags you already used for a hot version, as Earl Grey doesn't seep well without heat. If you have culinary lavender and loose leaf earl grey, it'd be a good idea to join the two together now. You can reuse the earl grey, but you can tell the lavender is done when the colour has drained. If you dont have a tea strainer, you can put the culinary lavender in and scoop it out when you're done.

Recipe

  1. Add a teaspoon of Vanilla Syrup into your cup of choice.
  2. Add your culinary lavender into your tea strainer, either with your loose leaf or with the tea bag.
  3. Pour your hot water and let steep (better with the top covered) for approx. 3 minutes.
  4. Pour your half n' half/heavy creme into the saucepan on medium to high heat. (depends on how impatient you are!)
  5. (optional) add a couple of teaspoons of vanilla syrup into the heavy creme
  6. Wait until the heavy creme gets hot enough to bubble, turn heat off, and quickly pour into your tall mug.
  7. Turn the mug to a 45 degree angle and use your electric frother in a slow up & down motion until it froths to your liking.
  8. Remove tea bag/strainer and pour your newly frothed milk into the cup.
  9. (optional)Garnish with lavender leaves and flowers.
  10. Enjoy!

My memories:

I made everyone one of these when I first figured it out. I used the flowers from my garden. We don't have a big lavender plant, but it seems to like when I cut off the small flowers or leaves as it almost always grows back. The scent of lavender is so calming and this recipe reminds me of someone beautiful.

Vanilla Syrup

Ingredients & utensils needed:

  • Water
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla extract/Vanilla Bean paste
  • Sauce pan

Notes

This is an ingredient. Please don't drink it on its own. But what do I know, I drink vinegar on it's own. You can use immediately or store in it in a mason jar.

Recipe

  1. Mix equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir until it is clear.
  2. Add your vanilla. Stir in.
  3. Take off heat, pour it in a mason jar or use immediately.
  4. Enjoy!

Agua de Jamaica

Ingredients & utensils needed:

  • 2 cups of dried hibiscus/jamaica flowers
  • 2-3 inches of cinnamon sticks / 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 2/3 cups of mexican sugar (azúcar morena pure cane sugar) or piloncillo
  • 8 cups of water
  • big saucepan with a lid

Notes

I drink this on my period because it helps the cramping. It helped alleviate mental and physical symptoms on PMDD aswell. It's known to help lower blood pressure and inflammation. This recipe is an overnight recipe. It also stains and looks like blood so be careful.

Recipe

  1. Mix all ingredients in a big pot. Set the burner to medium heat.
  2. After it has come to a boil, simmer with the top covered for ten minutes
  3. Turn the heat off, but keep the top covered.
  4. Leave for a couple hours to overnight.
  5. Strain into container.
  6. Enjoy!

My memories:

I have been making this with my family forever. I spilled it all over my white dress at my sisters baby shower haha....
